The Nevada Royal Jasper Mine is a new mine and quarry development owned and operated by Western Blasting Technologies, Inc. ( http://www.westernblasting.com ) which is a full drilling and blasting service.
For the last ten years research and due diligence has been done to evaluate and develop a business model for the complex geology of the Nevada based mineral lease. Amongst the rock formations are rare highly silicated jasper boulders not commonly found in the world of semi - precious stone materials.
For the last forty years the area has become well known for offering many near surface rocks for carving and cabochon based jewelry . As well as for necklace beads and designer ornamentation. Never before on a commercial scale has Jasper been offered as a tile or counter top surface to the higher end construction or interior design world.
The simple reason for this is that the high costs associated with the process of mining ,selection and grading of the occasional jasper boulders must justify the business model. The finished Jasper product must also have enough value , beauty and size to justify this unusual form of selective stone quarrying. Though the research has shown the costs are exceptionally high for this kind of selective mining the owners ,Randy and Patty Messer have boldly decided to open the mine to a new scale of production for tile and slab. Randy and Patty Messer believe that becuase the world has never had Jasper available before as a rare semi- precious tile, that there will be enough value recognition created to justify the mining project.
When one visits the best tile and slab suppliers in the world ; Granite, Marble . Sandstone, Travertine and Onyx are all commonly found but to hear of Semi Precious Jasper tile being offered is a unique and exciting new development that the Nevada Royal Jasper Mine intends on becoming a reality.
Jasper will perhaps be the hardest tile offered to the market ever . Being close to a 7 on the Mohs scale.
It is much harder than Granite and consequently even more durable to cutting knives and stiletto heels. As the mine develops more extensively more color varieties of jasper will be offered. Though the Tsars of Russia inlaid there palaces with Jasper and Shah Jahan included it in his inlay adorning the Taj Mahal. Never before has such a large quantity been offered in recent times. This is because Jasper characteristicly is found in small boulders and not in rare large scale boulders.
To understand the rarity of such a beautiful material coming to market is something the Messer's are thinking will also justify the hard labor of love in extracting this stunning semi precious rock.
Unlike most rock quarries that offer one or two grades of a similar colored rock .
The Nevada royal Jasper mine will be offering over 7 distinct color combination varieties to date. They will offer the lavender violet jasper . the pink and violet jasper . the raspberry ripple , sunset dream, purple , red and mystic grey ghost, and many other color combinations that will need to be sorted.
The Nevada Royal Jasper Mine is still in its early stages of development and is in the process of setting up contracts with tile cutting factories that can cut and grade the different color combinations for market . We are always open to interested parties wanting to sell or market our tile or uncut jasper.
And are always willing to accept enquiries for tile or carved stone rough supply.
Please see the products page for a basic introduction to some of the color varieties.
